Telecom Tech to Telecom Designer

Once you have been a technician for a couple of years you may want to increase your expertise by getting involved with designing systems.  You probably already have seen some installations that you thought you could have done a better job designing.  There are a number of ways to train in becoming a designer or engineer.  Of course you can go to school and get an engineering degree, which could cost a lot of time and money.  This may be fine for some, but another choice is to complete some online courses to enhance your knowledge.

There are other organizations like Cisco, CompTIA and ETA that can steer you in a direction to hold some credentials labeling you as a trusted designer.
Career development is always a work in progress.  Never settle for what you have today, because tomorrow brings on new innovations and or technologies.  Keeping current through online certification courses is the sure method of accomplishing this.
